DECISION-MAKING FOR LEADERS

Each of our courses is carefully designed to address the unique challenges that leaders face today— combining rigorous scientific principles with practical, real-world application.

“Joe teaches leadership decision-making exceptionally well. His deep understanding of the material allows him to tailor his explanations to the needs of each individual student.” – Chris D., COO & General Counsel

Our curriculum focuses on three key areas:

1. The Individual as a Leader
Strengthening personal judgment, self-awareness, and decision-making abilities.

2. The Organizational and Larger Context
Leading teams, managing collective decision-making, and fostering a culture of high decision quality within the organization.

3. Decision Sciences
Integrating evidence-based frameworks, probabilistic thinking, and cognitive bias mitigation to support better decisions at all levels.

Managing Cognitive Biases ↓

Even the most experienced leaders are subject to cognitive biases, which can distort judgment and decision quality.

70 years of research in psychology, economics, sociology, and neuroscience, has demonstrated that human decision-making is significantly and negatively impacted by cognitive shortcuts and biases. Without explicit learning to recognize and manage these cognitive biases, leaders and their organizations are at risk of making poor decisions.

This course teaches leaders to identify, manage, and mitigate biases that affect their own decisions and those made by their teams. Through strategies like pre-mortem analysis, participants will learn how to address biases like confirmation biasoverconfidence, and the sunk cost fallacy, fostering a culture where decisions are made more objectively and rationally.

Thinking Probabilistically & Forecasting ↓

Most leadership decisions are bets under uncertainty—but most leaders don’t treat them that way.

This course equips leaders with the tools, mindsets, and habits of top decision thinkers to reason in probabilities, forecast outcomes, and reduce the noise and bias that undermine decision quality.

Learn how to use base rates, expected value, and confidence calibration to clarify high-stakes decisions, apply practical forecasting techniques for strategy and planning, and embed probabilistic thinking in your team’s culture—without needing a background in statistics.

Using AI to Make Better Decisions

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how leaders make choices.
Done well, AI can expand options, surface insights, and accelerate learning. Done poorly, it can magnify bias, create false certainty, and undermine trust.

Learn how to leverage AI responsibly at every stage of the decision process; from framing problems and generating options to analyzing tradeoffs, executing choices, and learning from outcomes. Leave with practical frameworks, tested workflows, and an AI-augmented toolkit for making better decisions in complex, uncertain environments/.

Decision-Making for Leaders: Using AI to Make Better Decisions
Augment judgment. Harness AI wisely. Lead with clarity in the age of intelligent tools.
